The Word

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." -John 1:1-5 NASB

Let the Word always be your guide. The precepts, promises, plans, character and attributes of the Lord are revealed in Scripture. He reveals Himself to and through the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, or Israel, culminating in His own appearance in human form in the Person of Jesus Christ our Lord, the Word Made Flesh.

The Word touches our heart and mind and soul differently each time we read. The Holy Spirit is able to teach, scold, reprove, remake, mold, enlighten, lighten, love, assist, prod, and speak directly to us through the Holy Scriptures.

Read a chapter each day to start. Begin with the verses above in the Gospel of John...Pray and reflect about what you have read. How might you apply what you have read in your own life? Be open to the instruction of the Holy Spirit.

I love you.

"All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." -2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do." -Hebrews 4:12-13 NASB
